How long to QT

So I might be getting 2 zebra plecos in the next month or two. I have a 20 gallons long for them to QT in before I add them to my 3 zebra tank (20 gallons). However, these being zebra plecos, I want to insure I QT long enough that any health issues can be dealt with! Also, if the fish pass QT without issue, would it be dangerous to put all of them into the 20 long rather than keeping them in the 20 tall?

Personally, I quarantine for a minimum of four weeks for common fish.
Given the costs involved with zebras Id suggest at least eight weeks.
I can't answer the rest of your question, as I consider my self too new to plecos to comment.

i do 4 weeks in QT also. Which starts over if you have to medicate them during that time for anything. starts over when they are better from whatever they got medicated for.
I am not sure on your stocking question, 5 in a 20 long, solo occupants?

I Qt for 2 weeks if nothing is obviously wrong. If there is any hint of sickness QT is 1 month starting after the illness is cured. Also my QT tank gets it's water from the water change in the tank the fish will eventually be housed in. I find this the easiest way to both QT and acclimate the fish to it's eventual home.

Wow, I was thinking to QT for six months or so! Two is a lot easier.
Yes, for stocking: the 3 I have now are in a 20 tall. The QT tank I have is a 20 long. The two new zebras would go into the 20L for QT, and then I'd move the other 3 in with them, in theory?

I agree, 2 weeks is "normally" suffecient after close observation and no apparent problems. As far as the issue over 20 gal. high vs. 20 gal long, I personally use a 20 high for Q.T.( just because its an extra tank) but I would use the 20 gal. long to house the fish just for the fact that there is more surface area for the purpose of oxygenation and the release of other gases and of course more room for the hypans.

Are these wild caught, or are they from a reputable breeder? I would go longer with WC.
