Anyone kept this species before??? I realise they grow out to be monsters. I received a coupla 3" specimens. They are being kept in brackish water at the moment. Seem to be doing fine. Started eating FBS.
Are they known to do well in fresh water???

I have never seen a P. canius specimen of any size in fresh water. Brackish, yes, but even the large ones tend to stay in the true marine waters of the coastal zone.

What scares is me is that there are Omobranchus zebra in the tank that are smaller then 'em. I guess I will have to take a chance.

I know!!!!

Very active at night. Eating anything in sight. A really cool fish for people with bigger tanks.
