The first shots are credited to Jonny Jensen, the others to someone else, should they all be the second contributor?

The first three shots are JJ's, the fourth and fifth are not. And I believe that to be correct, as the last two are also taken with a completely different model of camera.

Hi!!

While we are at it, I can't see the teeth correctly, especially the lower jaws'one.
From what I could possibly spot, I wouldn't be surprise this fish is indeed an Hypancistrus
The fish ressemble quite a lot Hypancistrus sp L340 especially in the very last pic

Cheers

Good point Yann. We did have a "funny" looking Hypancistrus [similar to, but not quite same as L340] not so long ago in the ID thread - same thing? We eventually got good teeth photos of that one.

Hi!!

I thought it could be an eventuality so I did check, but one has a belly pattern while the other is totally naked, yet we have seen such possible variation within a Hypancistrus species such as L260, but not so sure it could be the point here. Also they have things in common, they both differ enough from one and another to be considered as different species

Cheers

And we don't know the capture location... It was just a thought...

It was imported with other Rio Negro fishes and, full size, it shows Peckoltia teeth. Checked out with Ingo too FWIW, it's a newbie.
