Synodontis genus identification

In case anyone notices:
The species identification information for
ended up in the genus identification section and is now spread throughout all
.
I will change this and also write a proper genus identification for
which had not been done yet.

Hmm. I'm just wondering if there's something going wrong in the vetting part or display/editing parts.
I'll have a look over the code that does these things.

Having looked at the code, I think that it's just some sort of mistake... Maybe Jools had a few too many Tusker when vetting the data ;)

Looked back at my submission...it was my mistake and Jools being where he is I can understand it slipping through. I am just working on a proper genus description and will put it through soon.

A few too many the night before and it was reviewed on a blackberry... My bad, I will also look at the vetting bit as there are a few improvements that could be made.

I have already submitted a few things to improve vetting, but I'd expect making it clearer what goes into the Genus vs. Species page with some style (e.g. make Genus a different colour may make it more clear).

I have always thought it would be good to devide these more, as the one runs right into the other as you are reading them.

I had the same discussion with Jools some time ago. He said it was meant to be like it is now. Maybe if we BOTH tell him otherwise, he'll listen. ;)
However, what we're discussing here is the admin side where the content update is vetted by Jools, which shows the "old" and "new" values for the different fields that have any content at all - so all the (non-empty) Cat-eLog fields are in two columns on the screen at once. Since we have some fields that are "per genus" and some that are "per species", it would be useful to have a distinction visually on the screen when vetting.

I am moving this as the original item is solved.

Thanks Birger, I do think I need to do something about the point regarding genus versus species ID. Will keep it in mind.
Cheers,
Jools
