Hello Everyone,

Just a small intro about me. I am Hobbyist and Native fish collector, explorer and commercial breeder of fish based in Bangalore. Here is a trip which happened at the start of this year, I know its a long time ago but I hope you all enjoy it.

People involved in this trip were me - Nikhil, Benjamin, Anja and Rajesh. It was more of a vacation to Coorg with a days collection planned. Coorg is the main Coffee production area in South India. Its about a 5 hour drive from Bangalore. We left Bangalore around 2a.m and reached the main gate of Nagarhole wildlife sanctuary at around 6a.m gates were still closed and the early morning entry guaranteed us seeing a bit of wildlife compared to later in the day. We were greeted by a group of the Indian Bison and saw wild dogs and chained elephants.

We there was no collection that day but collection happened the next day and here are pics from that. Apologies for the pics as there was no Photo tank in some cases.

Badis/Dario sp. 'Kodagu' (Soon to be described, this was the same fish collected by Beta and Rahul at Sita river but these were found in a completely different river unconnected to Sita but its the same fish)

Hi Guys,

Thanks a lot.

Jools yes thats it. Its the place where the river Cauvery originates from thats a point called Talacaveri. Its very high up in the mountains that one.
It would have been fun to meet you when I was in Scotland. I lived in Glasgow for about 4 years the only person I knew well enough in Scotland was Colin Dunlop. He started my passion for wild Bettas.

Hi Bala. I dont have the M. canarensis with me now but do have a gruop of 5 Mystus tengara. I am trying to breed them to get exact water parameters and the way to. I can pass them on after that.

Regards

Nikhil

What a small world we live in - I've not seen Colin for a few months - must go around and raid his fishroom again!

Cheers,

Jools

Hi,

Yes we collected Aplocheilus lineatus. Somewhat a different colouration or a breeding dress.

Hi All,

Both Ben and I have been featured in the latest edition of the Aquaristik Fachmagazin for this very trip.

Here is the link to the main page. Will post a copy of the article when I get the magazine.
