Which one to choose from?

Well, friends after getting platydoras Armatulus and Agamyxis Pectifrons I am hooked to cats. So planning to import any one of these species. However, have a separate tank in mind for these.
Tank will be 30in x 18 in x 15 in(H) . So will be great if you can help me choose any one of these
1. Microglanis Poecilus
2. Trachelyichthys exili

Always a difficult one. I've kept
. They hide pretty well, but do come out when food is available - a shady tank is better.
I haven't kept
, so can't really say.

I haven't kept Trachelyichthys exilis either, but like Mats have kept Microglanis. I'd love some Trachelyichthys exilis personally, so if I were able to get hold of some, Trachelyichthys exilis for me.

I agree with martin - these are a nice little fish to have.

Trachelyichthys, as they are much more visible - despite the fact they are auchenipterids. They can be bred as well when kept under proper circumstances.

Well it seems Trachelyichthys is the unanimous choice.. But concerned with the temparature heer in India. Max. can maintain it at 28 deg Centigrade..
Is it fine for them and how comfortable are they in hard water like close to 7.5-8.

they will survive, but for any South American fish it's best if you at least use peat and bogwood to cope with some of the effects of hard, alkaline water
my tapwater is like yours and I have kept Trachelyichthys in the past, dittoMicroglanis.
on coloration IMO the Microglanis are better looking, but a big disadvantage is that in my experience Microglanis is less visible than the most nocturnal Auchenipterid.....
filtering over peat granules makes a lot of difference for the Amazonian fishes when confronted with harder water with a higher pH.
you can also add aok- or beech-leaves; that'll look great and those too are benificial for the catfishes.
