Is this really a gibbiceps?

Got this one from a customer along with some skinny angelfish and an ancient looking silver shark. Looks like he'll need some medicine aswell after seeing those close-ups of his mouth huh. I just assumed it was a gibbiceps at first since we tend to get one every now and then from people who thought they wouldn't get that big since their tank was so small, and now they're "probably too big to flush down the toilet". #-O
Looks different from our ones though, but then again none of those fish looked quite right.

Ah, thanks. I've been told these guys get up to 600mm, but not quite that bad then.

The size we have in the Cat-eLog is the "Standard length" (so not counting the tail fin) of the largest MEASURED specimen (to the best of our knowledge). It's quite possible that they grow a bit larger, and if you add a bit for the tail-fin, I'm sure it'll be close to 18"/45cm.

Will give him/her a 45cm tag then. I have a feeling we'll get to keep this one for a year or two aswell.
