I was unfair to tilapia. It was likely merely coincidental that after the addition of the tilapia, the damage started to appear on the snail bullhead. That was actually coming from a yellow bullhead, who used to be beta and the snail alpha but it was changing apparently (in retrospect) right when tilapia was introduced.

One tinfoil I assume got a cut from a fake coral decoration which has not healed in couple months but instead grew some. We had to take it out and sanitize the wound:

Nope. 3 days in 1800 gal. Failure. The opportunistic, predatory, smart mahseer prove successful at biting little bits off the soldiers fins, little by little but incessantly:

Feeding issues had lasted 6-10 months. Had appetite but couldn't feed, spat out. Final 14", 6yo.

The bigger one of the two young black ears is moved to 1800 gal and so far, in a week, successfully, especially in view of their extreme nervousness and in view of the failure of the same move by three 1ft soldier catfish, who were tattered up by mahseer.

The seven Cubans started growing faster after we got 50lbs of Peru smelt (yellow tail, look like large glass minnows, ~5"-7", some anchovy species) and started feeding them more. The 4 biggest look like they are approaching 1.5ft. All but one (the smallest, no coincidence probably) still take pellets too:
