Frogs w. Black-eyes?

I have a 33gal that's ready to go, and was originally going to set it up with just a small group (4 of my 10) Leopard Frog (
), but now I'm wondering if I added my pair of Black-eye Yellow Ancistrus (
) would they both breed?
I have no concern of hybridization, I'm just wondering if - given adequate breeding caves - they'd be comfortable enough together to spawn... even regularly?
Thanks for the input.

About the only thing I can say is I have never had two species of pleco spawn in the same tank. I'm not sure for the reason but that has been my experience. I have no problems keeping two groups of species in the same tank but only one species ever spawns for me.

L134, L270( or whatever hypans those two were on my L270 id thread), and a panaque sp did spawn for me in the same tank nearly the same times.
I had L264 and BN spawn at the same time in the same tank a long time ago when I had my L264 colony.

Should I try to put a current across 2 caves at separate ends using 2 small powerheads? Or should I just skip the extra current?

Put what I believe to be a trio into the 33 today. The largest is definitely a male - nice and prickly! The next largest I believe is a female - not completely smooth, but no odontal growth on the front half of the body and pecs are almost completely smooth. The smallest my be an immature male, but the person I bought this group off me had them for a bit and from his story I'd suspect all of mine (9 in total) to be 1.5-2yrs old.
The tank currently has one cave and a large piece of driftwood. I'm wondering if the cave is deep enough - the male's tale still sticks out a bit when he's all the way in. Is that too short for breeding?
