Does anyone know the lifespan of these guys in captivity? I apologize if this has already been answered in a previous post--I tried to search previous posts but got tangled in a nasty web of name calling & misunderstandings

I've kept mine for about 7 years and she's still doing fine (in someone else's tank).
I would estimate this species is able to live for at least 10 - 15 years, maybe longer, provided it gets good care.
What do you mean by your last remark wrt name calling and misunderstandings?

A typical case of "if you don't like the message, blame the messenger". Happens every now and again on forums, I'm afraid.

Unfortunately with forums we don't have the ability to show voice inflection & emotion and messages don't come through as intended and thus misunderstandings happen. I think if you haven't had your own misunderstanding in a forum, you haven't posted enough. I wasn't trying to stir the pot, was just pointing out it was difficult to find what I was looking for because I had to sift through that thread.
