I bought two of these fish about half a year ago, but i have always wondered what to call them, since it is not a correct name.

However i have not managed to take any photos of them, (they are REALLY shy, only come out when there's food around) but maybe you could tell me which peckoltias live in rio xingu, because from there i would probably be able to ID my fish myself.

So now i have written my first post :D *yey*

Please comment on my english if i have written something wrong

Are you referring to L015 (the real P. vittata)? That's the only Peckoltia I know from the Rio Xingu.

It looks alot like the L015, but it also looks alot like the L103, those are the only two i can possibly think it is. So if the L103 is not from rio xingu i would have to say it is a P. vittata or L015. Great.

L103 comes from Venezuela. A bit far from Rio Xingu.

Another thing that popped up into my mind ...

What should i feed them?
At the moment i give them a mix of spinache/peas/shrimp which seems to work very well, but maybe there are better things to give to them?
Maybe some other food may help in spawning these fish?

Did you read Janne's article in spawning these fish?
