Hi all,
I keep three Psudacanthicus Leopardus where I got no idea about their sex. Some help would be really appreciated.
Number 1 is 24cm, number 2 is 26cm and number 3 is 28cm.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers Simon

I'm pretty sure #3 is male and #2 is female; #1 looks like female to me, but I'm not as sure on that one.

Im not good at sexing them and I wont even attemp.
I just want to say, they look very nice, very awesome L600's. How long do you have them? Ever been successful on breeding? I see that you use CM when measuring them, you must not be in the US?

Good morning,
Thanks for the answers. My tendency is also #3 male and #1, #2 female. But when I look at them like on the pictures or in my tank, I keep changing my opinion
I keep those three since about two years. And even I had no success in breeding yet, those Pseudacanthicus are great! In my old appartment I've kept them in a show tank in my living room. During the day you can see them quite often and I never had any problems with injuries from fighting. I hope they start growing a bit slower now, because so far they've made like 2 - 4cm each year.
And nope I'm from Europe, Switzerland.
Cheers Simon

Sorry to chime in late but I spent the last two weeks down in southern Brazil. Perhaps one time I will make it to the north.
Anyway, at the stated length a female should be wider in the middle when viewed from the top. I think all three are males since their sides are smooth all the way back to the tail. Try increasing their food for a week or two. When males get fatter their bellies grow down, females get wider.
Merry Christmas!
Jim
