I ordered these guys and they were suppose to be Striped Raphaels. Obviously they are not. I looked through the cat-elog and I think they might be Amblydoras hancockii or Anadoras grypus. But I'm hoping I can get a for sure ID. They are approx. 3 inches TL

Nauticus looks to be it. Wow so they are pretty much full grown then. I was originally planning to grow out a couple striped to put in my oscar tank. These guys would be lunch. Looks like I'm setting up another tank for them.

yes, I agree with nauticus. They are the most common of Amblydoras.

Could you pls tell me how you were able to find Amblydoras hancockii in the C-Log?

On a side note: your fishes have been known in the trade for many, many years as A. hancockii, so you made a pretty good guess.

It must not have been in the catalog. I was using google also. Must have been from there.

I really do not think an Oscar would try to eat these. Just my opinion.

I'm not sure if I want to chance it. My oscar is 7-8 inches long. These guys would fit in his mouth if he tried to eat it.

Both have speckled bellies so it looks like I have 2 males. I had ordered a 3rd but didn't take it since it was so small, I may go back and get it and maybe order a couple more. What tank size would be recommended for 6 of these?

These guys have ich. I'm slowly raising the temp and adding salt. I'm at 2 tablespoons per gallon right now. What salt dosage is recommended for these fish?

2 level tablespoons = 2 x 15 g = 30 g per 3.785 l = 0.79%

Usual dose to treat, e.g., koi, is 3 lbs per 100 US gal (3.785 l) = 0.36%. You are already 2.2 times over that doze.

I have had problems with small doradids not tolerating 0.2% already but many other keepers say 0.35% has been fine with their fish; so my experience likely has had another negative factor at play too (all my raphs died).

Sorry that was a typo. I meant 2 tablespoons per 10g. They are in a 10g tank for quarantine/treatment.
