Hello all,
I'm getting mixed messages.
The Cat-e-Log says about the :

once released in the aquarium, is rarely seen again.

Someone else is saying to me that they are regularly seen during the day is his tank.
Is this specie rarely seen again or not ?

I haven't kept this species, but I would expect typical small doradid behaviour: Hides most of the day, with the exception of "tasty food in tank". The CotM article seems to support this.

In a dark tank with lots of cover, chances of seeing it will improve, but I wuldn't expect it to be "out and about" much of the time unless it's feeding on something "nice".

IME this species hides for most of the time. The only times i've seen them visible for any significant periods is when suitable hidey-holes are NOT provided.

Obviously some fish can act differently to others of the same species but generally this is down to the environment they are kept in.

When provided with suitable hiding places they will tend to hide in daylight hours, even if they are housed with just congeners. It is rare for them to come out of hiding unless they are hungry and they can smell food.

So basically I agree with Mats and Richard!

When I'm feeding my acanthadoras even appear at the surface to pich up some food
