***I think if you got many answers, they'd be diverse. I've never kept them alone but I kept many of them, up to about 10, of various sizes, from 3" to a foot, TL. IME, mine didn't fight, not nastily anyways. I remember other keepers say the opposite.
i have a Pimelodus ornatus but im not sure if that would count as a tank mate for him!
***don't know either. I personally would try and keep a close eye, as long as the tank is plenty roomy.
also does anybody know how long it might take a 3 inch Pimelodus blochii to reach full size?
***reaching full length would take a few years, reaching the full mass, likely at least 5 years.
and how active they are compared to a Pimelodus pictus or a Pimelodus ornatus?
***IME, their temperament is close.

I started, way back, with 3 P blochi, but 2 died soon. They were quite territorial.
So since then, I keep mine alone - that is, with other Pimelodus
if this is wrong, I'll blame him: after all he is the reason he is alone himself
