Feeding Akysis

I managed to acquire 3 Akysis, My question is whats the best way to feed them? at the moment I wait until the tank lights are off and then send defrosted blood worm to the bottom, would it pay me to also try a wafer or pellet type food as well. The only other fish in the tank are Tanichthys albonubes and as we know they eat everything on offer.
Thanks French47

in my experience Akysis does accept artificial food, but only just
it does need frozen or live food to thrive

anything small will do as long as it sinks

daphnia, artemia, cyclops, bosmines, black mosquito larvae, white mosquito larvae finely minched mussel, tubifex....they go crazy with live tubifex

i havent tried blackworms, cause these are very hard to get over here, but I wouldn't be suprised if they accept those too.

grindalworms or micro worms are likely good too, but that kind of food must be used sparingly as it is greatly polluting; Akysis likes clean fresh water.

don't overfeed them! they tend to gorge themselves to bursting, but that can kill them.
make sure they come to feed, start with small amounts

if they're feeding fine, you can downscale the frozen/live to a few times a week and use artificial food for the other days

if you keep them in an unheated tank, 4-5 days food a week is plenty.

Sidguppy your a star, thanks for your speedy reply, the information is most helpful, as it happens I do feed most of the things your suggested but I think I could be over feeding them, I will now feed every other day.
Thanks once again.
