WE OBSERVED A SOLID BLACK PLECO WITH A RED SLASH ON EACH SIDE OF THE FACE. ANY IDEA AS TO WHAT THIS PLECO IS AND HOW WE COULD LOCATE ANOTHER? WE ALSO OBSERVED A SOLID BLACK PLECO WITH RED STRIPING SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE MARKINGS OF THE TIGER BUT THE STRIPING WAS RED. AGAIN ANY IDEAS AND WHERE MIGHT WE LOCATE?

Hi Jandscory,
I don't know if you realized this, but typing in all capital letters is considered "yelling" in online forums.
Did you have a look through the CateLog here? There are literally hundreds of types of plecos and there is a great picture resource at your fingertips. If you did that already, and it didn't help, then hopefully someone can help you narrow it down

The first fish you describe sounds like a
Panaque, probably one of the species known as a
Gold Trim Panaque.
Is
this your second fish?
