I have 2 of these in my 75 Gallon Aquarium (my wife accidently placed a few guppies in this tank when she was supposed to put in my 29 Gallon, and he ate them all)

any comments would be welcomed. By the way, these are not timid at all, when feeding time comes, they swim right up to my hand to get food and they swim alot midwater.

Rhamdia laticauda. Interesting cats, if somewhat dull-colored.
Watch it, though. It's going to get big and snack on those danios.
I thought so...

Dang LFS's, I asked if this thing got big, they told me about 4-5 inches, so I bought 2 for my 75 Gallon Tank. They don't mess with plants, they seem to like them which is good, but not good for my other mollies, giant danios and platties...
They are really wonderful to look at so I'll keep them.
Thanks

That's a good decision. They are not frequently-encountered in LFSs and are really interesting fish to keep.
However, I have found that they are not too fond of each other's company when they get bigger. With a 75-gallon tank, I wouldn't worry too much about scraps as there should be enough room for quite a while more.

I don't know what to look for when differentiating these two (Rhamdia and Pimelodella) - especially they are now in two different families.
Silurus - can you advise?

Look at the head. Rhamdia has a broad, flattened one somewhat reminescent of Hemibagrus. while Pimelodella has a more laterally compressed head like that of Mystus (especially the long adipose-finned species).
