I was kinda hoping it was l191 as I know these don't grow quiet as big.
It didn't cost me any thing any way.

I thought L191 got bigger than L27 and L190?
Either way, and over-grown royal of any size would be a nice problem to have!!

Cheers for the link birger. Now that is one huge fish I'd love to see mine reach that size.
I'd say iv got a few years though before my little 6cm chain saw reachs that size.
Seems I was miss informed that l191 only grows to max 9 inches.
At the moment he is in my forty gallon set up that is heavily filtered yes I know this is to small for him but at his size and growth rate iv got a few months of him being ok in there.
He will be moving to either a 4 ft x 2 ft or 6 ft x 2 foot towards the middle of next year. My ultimate aim is to get a few more of these awesome fish and set up a indoor pond at the back of my garage. Haven't told the misses this yet obviously she is still getting round the idea of the 6 ft tank. One surprise at a time and all that. Am I right in my thoughts that a forty gallon is ok to start this guy off due to his size and slow growth rate. Water quality isn't a issue I change 40 litres twice a week and vac the gravel I can get to then every sun I do a 60 litre change remove the boxwood and give all the gravel a good going over.
