Sold to me last year as A. Claro, as young ones they looked similar but now grown they are not Claro. Any ideas what they are for the new kid? I thought I had done enough research, should have come here first!

The males are 3.5-4" and the girls are about 3 inches.
The male in the picture looking down onto his back is actually a silver color with white spots and the other is black/brown with white spots. The both have stripe marking on the fins.

People may have missed your post. Now that you have 'bumped it' you might get some responses!
It looks like it is the fish, commonly bred by hobbyists, listed here at Planet Catfish as

IMO, this is just a common Ancistrus (most likely the one Dave linked to). To my knowledge, I'm the only person with A. claro in WA, and I haven't sold any fry from them in years (yes, I am working on remedying that situation). The pattern and mouth shape is wrong to be A. claro, as is the size it has already attained. Identifying which fish you have exactly is quite difficult, unless you have collection information. If this fish was smaller when you purchased it, the odds are good it is just a tank raised bristlenose that many people call "dwarf" because they don't get the size that commons do. Hope that helps
