I have 13 Centromochlus perugiae kept them for a year, 7 females and 6 male in a breeding tank of their own. Have ceramic tubs 1.5 cm opening on both ends.
They are feed with blood worms every other day.

Do they breed in close end tubes or double open end tubes are alright?
Should I put in a power head to increase flow of water, have an over tank external filter at the moment...

Hi!!

Well it works better on tubes or caves closed in one side!!

You ll find them in different type of current, almost none to good flowing so basically it doesn't matter much

Thanks Yann, will try to get some closed end 1.5cm plastic pipes to try, how long of a pipe will you suggest? They like biteing each other , should I be worry?

Yes, I read it but I didn't know if I should be using open or close end pipes. Guess I will give it a try with the close end ones ：）thx~~

Short caves with one end closed is a good way to get to them to spawn.

Mine have bred in an open tube. My C. romani breed in woollen spawning mops. Pic below of C. perugiae with an egg mass.

My Tatia intermedia lay their eggs in any crevice. It seems some Auchenipteridae are not too picky where they put their eggs.

Just put a whole bunch of open end and close end PVC pipes. Guess my water too acidic 6.0PH, did water changes yesterday and today, back to 7.0PH now...
Heavy feeding on frozen blood worm daily and hope the get partying soon lolol
