Hi All

My lfs has something called a dwarf pangasius, which they claim gets to a max of 20cm.

Is there such a thing?
Are they correct?
Has it been mis-identified!
Or just incorrect info?

I have tried to have a look on the net, but haven't come up with much.

Thanks

A photo would help solidify an ID.

I've never heard of dwarf pangasius. My hope is that it is one of the smaller Pangasiidae - there are a few that grow only to 1'-1.5' TL - browse this small family and you will see.

I've seen photos and am aware of the existence of the short-body IDSs or rather short-body paroon sharks. Not here but on MFK: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forum ... id=2384197

(Irrelevant: what an abomination IMO... but I don't judge those who likes them.)

I agree that a picture would be helpful. The name used is quite confusing, in my opinion, as it is not likely to be both a "dwarf" and a Pangasius!

Over here (Sweden) I've seen (or a similar species - it is the scientific name they list) listed as "Dvärg Hajmal" - which could be translated as "Dwarf Pangasius".

I hope this helps!
