I agree,
It appears to be a Labiobarbus burmanicus. I have a shoal of 19 of them. I find them very peaceful and although they are said to get to 30cm, mine are between 15 to 20cm at almost 2 years of age. I bought mine at 7.1 cm on January 5 2011. I have raised them in a 454 litre tank. NOTE: Labiobarbus leptocheila appears to be almost identical and may actually be another name for the same fish.
I have owned L. festivus (The signal or arrow shark) which I find is the most desirable of the genus for beauty but I have not been able to find any for many years. The shoal of burmanicus I have, were sold and delivered to me as juvenile L. festivus.
My 6 L. festivus I obtained in May of 1996 at 7.6 cm and the last passed away in December 2007 at 23.5cm tl. As adults I kept them in my second largest tank.

Thanks for the info. So it looks like I have a gorgeous medium sized cyprinid which should be able to hold its own with bagrid catfish. What do you feed them??? I ask because I only use meaty feed at present. Any idea if they require some plant matter in their diet???

I don't keep mine with larger bagridae.
Mine eat flake, pellet, blood worms, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, glass worms and cut up smelt, salmon, shrimp, krill, mackerel.
Basically anything I feed my smaller and mid sized fish.

This specimen will end up in a tank with Mystus, some of the mid sized Rita and mid sized/large cyprinids. Feeding sounds fine as I use a mix of carnivore pellets, blood worms,FBS and prawn. Do these fish 'behave' with congeners???
