Notes of things to fix up.

Note to myself, so I don't forget...
There are TWO Rio Paranaiba in Brazil. One is in Sao Francisco basin, the other in Parana basin. Currently, the two are mixed up. Will need to walk through all species and fix up which is which.

On a technical note, how do help data inputers select the right one? Will they be attached to the right main rivers?

That is indeed one of the tricky parts. I tend to add (Brazil) or (Amazon) or some such - but I've found a couple of instances when it's not correct.

Maybe in the future, the interface should be updated to use a clearer represntation of the different rivers - using Ajax and a tree display, perhaps?

@Mats,

I can do that, but I need to check, they both have different parents? (parents = 17 & 962). I propose to delete bofw id=963 and amend any occurneces linked to the id to bofw id=900. Agree?

Yes, it can be done in the DB - but I don't think there are that many occurrences of them, and I'm not sure which to keep. In fact, there are 2 in total, both on the 900 bofw_id. So it's just making sure we have the right parent and location record, and delete the old one. I just made a note of it to make sure I don't forget, as I'd like to do it after I've gone through all the Loricariidae.

Edit: But since the "other one" is not being used, I've removed it - it didn't have any useful data anyways.

The old military expression says "When map and reality don't match, the map is right" - but where is really from? It says "Creek into Rio Ipixuna, 7°31'S, 63°16'W, 30 km west of Humaitá, Rio Purus system, Amazonas, Brazil.".

Well, Humita is on the west side of Rio Madeira. Ipixuna (on my map) is on the East side of Rio Madeira, and not in the Rio Purus drainage... Rio Humita that is mentioned in the distribution isn't on my map...

Edit: I'm not expecting anyone to answer this [although if someone does know the answer, or has access to better maps than my 1.5 x 1m sheet of all of Brazil and can help, please feel free to help!]

I started adding more of the genus Chasmocranus. Need to add the rest at some point.
Likewise for Nemuroglanis and Phenacorhamdia.

Chasmocranus DONE.
Nemuroglanis DONE.

Phenacorhamdia can wait until some other time.

Use Pimelodus heraldoi for a new species - it's a synonym.
