South American hard water habitat

This is an interesting paper that describes the habitat, fishes and their ecology of a South American karstic (limestone) habitat:
Bichuette, ME & E Trajano, 2003. Epigean and subterranean ichthyofauna from the São Domingos karst area, Upper Tocantins River basin, Central Brazil. Journal of Fish Biology 63: 1100-1121.
The habitat is fairly atypical in that the pH and conductivity are fairly high. There is enough info in the paper for you to recreate a karstic biotope (if you can get the correct species), and makes references to undescribed loricariid, trichomycterid and heptapterid species.
