I sent the guy a Moneyorder for some plecos which he cashed sept 29th 2003. Since then he has been dodging me and giving me excuses. I am now filing a Mail Fraud suit and would like to pass along a warning.
The guy also peddles stuff on Aquabid as Aquariumfantasy2.

I am not sure exactly how mail order works. He is not supposed to be able to cash it before he ships, correct?

;) hes that idiot who was selling the "true tigrinus" for a starting price of like 10 bucks, and said it was an endangered species(which at the time it wasn't even being restricted in exports... apparently now it is.) and then said to see his site for pics, and had a bunch of fish, including a tigrinus pic, and a P. tigrinum pic up as well? I e-mailed him something asking for a guarantee it was Merodontotus tigrinus with a live and healthy arrival guarantee, surprise surprise, never responded. I smelt a scheister, seems to be many on aquabid these days.

Roger, yeah, you send a check, or money order, or a credit card or paypal payment and they charge it before they send most time... the few times I sold I waited till people got the fish and were satisfied before cashing the check, but I knew them and such, so I trusted them. I've sent one money order, I don't like them... with a credit card you can work things out and file a complaint and have them do the footwork, MO's are... well, little safer than cash except you have a receipt. I sent one to David Webber of Wilddiscus.com/Freshwaterstingray.com and was nervous as heck, but he came though with no problems. the money order thing is my only problem with david... wish he took paypal or CC's.

SAllen,
I didn't even think about that - the guy is peddling Snakeheads (illegal) and Tigrinus (which he lists as endangered) - definitly seems like a scheister. I have filed the Mail Fraud suit - now I just have to wait.

I just hope no one else gets ripped off by him.

Personally I have had great experiences with Frybabies.com and Tangledupincichlids.com.
I checked out the wilddiscus and stingray site - I don't see a listing for anything for sale.

BTW your plecos look really cool - especially the L-134(?).

yeah, heh, most of the fish shown are for sale at some time or another, if not most of the time, if you have something you're looking for you can e-mail him and ask. I just mentioned him cause he's the only one I know that does the check/money order/cash only thing that I've dealt with.

And thanks for the compliment, yes, I've got a few L134's, I just moved a pair over to a 20 and may be breeding them soon
