I have seen a LF/WTB request on BCA in the last few months for L46 specifically for the island, and the next closest breeder is in Calgary as far as I know. Good luck and I might have to hit you up sometime in the future too.

I would like to buy at least 6 zebra plecos, but they are sooooo exspensive, I can't see spending thousands of dollars. Does any one know were I could buy some?
I saw that type in petstores like 20 years ago, they were very, very, affordable.
Why have they gone so way up in price?

Yeah we were selling wild adult zebra plecos at the local fish store that I worked at back in the late 90's for around %40-50 and many people thought that was expensive.Just like the saying a good thing does not last forever that is the case with them but also they needed to be protected so they will still thrive in the wild.Also price of fuel was well over 50% cheaper then than now.Knowing what I know now I should of started a zebra pleco farm but if I was really able to see the future I would just play the stock market.This shows us that wild imports can not be relied on to keep a fish in the hobby but the captive raised zebra plecos are much hardier than the often time stressed wild imports.
