usually i dont buy expensive fish because i work at a really fine fish only store and am allowed into the fish distributor...but anyway, i was at another store the other day and saw one of these, i was amazed by its truely weird colors...right now my ph is at 6.0 and i have a 70g planted tank with leaf litter/drift wood scatterd around, i cannot find that much information on this fish, and was wondering if anyone here had some experience with them...size, water requirements, shyness, food...the fish went for $48 , and is a good 4 inches...is that a high price in the whiptail world?

thanks

For a LFS, that seems to be a very good price for P. apithanos. Particularly at that size.

Wholesale they are typically $20-30 each depending on size. Perhaps the wholesale price has dropped a bit. I'll certainly be watching my lists!

Hi

That is not too bad a price... They are great looking fish, I have had some of the other Psuedo's. They are fairly easy to keep, just ,make sure that they get lots of food, especially meaty food such as bloodworms and chopped eathworms etc. Mine would also eat flakes and pellets really well.

Good luck... great fish.
