Just bought two of these little guys. I find them awesome looking, and I'm curious how I can keep them - what their behavior is like.
But I would really like a ID, so I know what to call them.

I see that there are not a lot of keepers in the cat-e-log for these fish. I hope some one can ID these correct for me...

I like this id as well. Columbianus is not as common from what I have seen in the hobby.

That makes two the same suggestions so I will name them .

They don't move an inch in the daytime but I've seen that they are eating foods I give them at night.

That's funny, because those 2 similar suggestions are for B. coracoideus, not for B. colombianus

I don't mean to resurrect an old thread but here is my experience with these a couple of years back. I had bought ten young specimens. I put them in an established , cycled tank ( 20 L )with a pool filter sand substrate , daylight bulbs , and planted with a few drift wood pieces. I only had them for about six months before I sold them. They are nocturnal , they aren't fussy eaters , they bury in the sand all day ( you wont ever find them or see them ) they come out at night. If you want to see them you'll need a bulb that wont effect their nocturnal habits. A regular flashlight freaks them out and they bury. They look cool but ( not to be a hater ) they are boring. I'd give them a two and half stars out of five !
