Hoplo going vegan?

To preface this comment I will explain that I have four bristle nose cat in the tank with three hoplo lits. the hoplos range from 5 inch to 7 inch long I hang a whole zucchini on a rod in the tank for the ancistrus as of late I have been seeing the hoplos eating the zucchini ,I mean gobbling it up .A 6 inch long zucchini last about four days.Has anyone else seen this feeding habit or are my fish just weird. :-??
note :these fish are fed three times a day buy autofeeder shrimp pellets and algae flake.

I think Hoplo's are omnivores - that is, they eat both plant material and animal material. Therefore, from their point of view, there's nothing wrong with taking advantage of the courgette/zucchini you provided

And as always in matters related to animals, it is stricktly first come, first service

Many fish will have a nibble at vegetables. I don't have any that will refuse, including corys eating cucumbers.
