Just curious to know what people's experience is with keeping a spotted Raphael cat with small fish like harlequin rasboras, otocinclus, etc. I have a spotted Raphael, about 3-4" and was thinking of moving him into my 90g angelfish tank. Plenty of small fish in there - harlequin rasboras, otos, red phantom tetras... Seems unlikely that he'd pick them off, but I'd prefer not to tempt fate. Can anyone here verify that the combo is likely to work? Thanks.

I would be careful.
The Agamyxis has quite a large mouth and small characins and/or cyprinids resting/sleeping near the bottom will be sitting ducks ime.

Never kept Agamyxis, but one day in a Platydoras / platy tank I missed the platies.

30 of them, @ 3 cm disappeared in 1 night. The Platydoras must have been 15 cm by then - it happened over 10 years ago.

Reading Agamyxis are large mouthed (but smaller, I'd add) I'd keep them out of any tank with fisah under 5 cm - unless they are intended to be fishfood

I never had any of my striped Raphaels go after smaller fish, but then, I keep to the fish mouth rule - If it CAN fit in the fish's mouth, it will eventually find its way there. They didn't really go after the ghost shrimp, either, when they were full grown. I can't comment on my spotteds, though. They're still the smallest in the tank at the moment. ;)

If given the opportunity, my Platydoras can remember they like to eat fish. But sometimes they need a few days, or weeks, in order to think of this
