Never seen it filmed like this, nice! Do remember that even if they hatch in 4 or 5 days dad will still keep them in the cave for a few more days.

When I fed this morning "dad" left the mouth of the cave so I managed to shine a light up in the hole and I see NOTHING, no eggs. I don't know much about these fish so maybe he ate the eggs? Maybe they did a practice run with no eggs? Maybe their cave wasn't to specs and they've filed a grievance with management (nothing in my inbox)....... Guess I'll just keep watching

Valb68,
They will put them into the tightest spot that they get get them into.
If the male left the cave to eat, then most likely there are no eggs.
But, considering what I saw on the video they will spawn together again-soon
The female may have found his cave unsuitable. She will spend some time in there.
Consider a pleco cave with 1 end closed. Even a pvc pipe with one end capped.
They like it to be tight fitting but so that both can squeeze into it.(3/4"- should be ok)
He will want one end sealed so he can keep at those rambunctious youngsters in a bunch! LOL!
Your on the right track, and moving up the breeder board..
Don

I ordered a cave with my Ken's order BUT am obviously size challenged as its HUGE, you could breed large cichlids in there! My new gobys use it as a battle perch......
The cave in the existing aquarium rock (from FISH in Las Vegas 20 some years ago, snicker) is almost perfect with what you are saying small opening then it opens up a bit. Just one opening and they can both fit in there, its a super squeeze though so maybe its just a touch to small. The male is back to scattering Cory's at feeding time, its his favorite hobby.
The best part of finally getting to look into his cave was when I used my handy tiniest brightest flashlight app on my phone....facing the wrong way and promptly blinded myself!

Might be a good moment to start an algae pebble farm. Or is there a lot of algae in your tank?

There is a lot of algae, but what is an algae pebble farm? Is that where you grow algae in a certain environment then use the stones to feed? If so that sounds like a fantastic idea

I'm pretty sure an algae pebble farm can be made by removing some pebbles from the tank r acquiring new ones, putting them in some water, and leaving them in the sun. The idea is that algae grows on the rocks, which you can then switch with pebbles still in your tank, providing a steady supply of algae.

Yes, just a big shallow container in the sun with pebbles in it.

It is. Works best with old tank water and a bit of algae to get the things started.

I ended up with ONE fry LOL It's a nice big healthy active fish living out its fry days in the shrimp tank. Learned my lesson on WHERE they spawn, how fast the eggs fungus and snails EAT eggs........
Flipped the rock with the original spawn cave and offered a man made cave that angles to the back, maybe he won't drag the eggs out this way? Female is fattening back up for attempt #2. Me and my camera are ready
