Corydoras seussi color variation?

Dear all,
I obtained two C. seussi a few weeks back, and they are a bit different than the seussi I used to see, thought I should share this observation and ask for more info.

These two were among a group of maybe 20-30 C. seussi in the LFS holding tank. All fish in that group carry the same special trait for seussi...they have white pectoral fins instead of yellow/golden ones. The same with their body color, they are quite pale compared to the usual yellowish coloring.

I first thought it might be just the stress and/maybe malnutrition. But now they have been in my tank for a while and are doing well, the color still stays pale. I am wondering if this is just a color variation of C. seussi.

Below are a few pics. Color is a bit off, ISO was too high, but there is really no sign of yellow color on them except a little bit on the top.

Cheers,

Max

Is the color of the substrate the cause?

They are gorgeous fish!

If it was the substrate, wouldn't they all be affected?

Thanks!
Yes, i do notice that white substrate makes fish a bit lighter in color, but it shouldnt take away all of a certain color. Also, the white substrate usually affects skin color much more than affecting colors on fins or spines.

The fish in pics above still shows no sign of golden color this specie usually has, i guess they just have a less common trait.... :d
