L160’s are from the Tocantins, Oeiras, and the Guama rivers. I do not know at this point if max size is related to river location.
My Pair of L160s (do not know collection location) maxed out at 9” and 9.5”
L375s are from the Rio Anapu. A friend’s pair I used for DNA testing maxed out at 12” and 14”.
Combining growth records of my fry and raising my breeders I have pieced together the following growth chart.
Pseudacanthicus spinosus (L160)
Months Length
0.4 0.6" 1.5cm
1.5 0.7" 1.9
4.4 2.5" 6.4
12 5" 12.7
18 6.5" 16.5
24 8.5" 21.6
35 9" 22.8
(sorry for the formatting I tried several times to fix it)
Pseudacanthicus aggression is a very interesting topic. Over the years my pseudas (large and small) have been mixed in with Clown Loaches (+10” to small), green phantoms, royals, abns, Coreys, etc. without major issues. I tend to feed heavy, provide lots of cover, and do not have high intensity lighting over my tanks. There are occasional territory disputes but nothing major.
That being said I received a text from a guy who bought one of my 2.5” L97s at an auction. He put it in with three similar sized L204s and the L97 beat them all into submission. I did not get the specifics of the tank setup and he moved the L97 into another tank. It would appear that the setup of the tank is a large factor in their aggression.

Hi pseudasmart, do you have a photo of the L375. I'm curious on how do they look like and how different are they from L160.

The photos I have of the L375s are not very good. I will try and take new ones in a few weeks.
With regards of L273s were you looking for something like this?
There is a red hue mixed in with the gold but it is very difficult to photograph.
This is one from a group that I am growing out. It will be at least another year before they will be large enough to spawn. I am always looking for high quality adults to buy but so far no success.

Not all 273s lose their color. It appears there are several sub groups. I have seen a few adults that kept their color. I belief I have the right ones.
Time will tell!
