My L184 have spawned and the eggs are in a crevice in a piece of drift wood. The fry will not be able to surive this tank and I can't place the drift wood anywhere else. What is the best way to get the eggs out of the wood? Can I siphon it with my cleaning siphon? Thanks

can you move the wood?

siphoning them out will likely damage them but you can try.

I'd move the wood and place them in a breeder box or net inside the tank so that there is minimal water parameter differences and there is ample circulation, so add an air stone to the trap if you have to. also block sight of eggs/fry from any carnivorous fish inside the tank.

Thanks for the input. The wood is way too big to move. This tank is one of my grow out tanks. So not set up to deal with breeding unfortunately

they usually glue the eggs tight so idk if you can siphon them out. maybe just leave them be and let them hatch. if it's only plecos in there they should be eaten.

Thinking about trying a turkey baster. Unfortunately it not only a pleco grow out. Growing out two types of barracudas and a group of clouded and small scale archers. Not worried about the cuda they probably wouldn't waste their time on fry. The archers maybe a different story

I would wait until they hatch and siphon them out when they're still wrigglers - they don't hold on very tight. Like mentioned by others, I'd think you'd probably damage a lot of the eggs if you were to siphon them out now.
