Can I keep L263 and two L114/LDA006 together ? They are all about 4 inches .... I hear they are a territorial species ..

First big question. What size tank? If the tank is of proper size you could probably keep them together for a while. The 114s will focus on each other first. You will need more than 3 hiding places and keep them well fed. If they get along now it will work until you add other fish or redecorate the tank. The environment will then be new and a new pecking order will have to be figured out all over again.

I once had a guy offer me a complete 50 gal bow front tank setup if I would also take the fish. He had the tank running for 5 years with no new fish added, some had died over time. There were 7 cichlids all over 8". They were not in the best of shape. I put them into a 160 gal stock tub with cover while I figured out what to do with them. A week or two later I come home to find 5 on the floor and 2 Dempsey's left in the tank with eggs on some slate. 2 days later the female 'found' an opening and was on the floor. Needless to say I did not look forward to the next time I talked with the guy. Lessons learned: there is never such a thing as a free tank, things don' t work out as expected, and I should stick with what I know.

I would expect many will reply that it is a bad idea and they are also correct. Sometimes things work and sometimes not.

To end the story I saved about 50 eggs, let them hatch, grew them out, and sold them for almost nothing.

I apologize for not giving more details , it's a standard 55 gallon tank with about 7 large pieces of drift wood ( curvy and hallowed out pieces ) stacked from one end to the other end of the tank.
Water temps - 80F
Ph - 6.0
Tank has been running for about eight months , I do a 50 % water change weekly .

No, I would say it isn't safe to do in a tank that small.

I agree. They would quickly run out of space.

Okay perhaps I can try it in my 125 gallon with the same water temps and parameters ?

Common sense says, you can't go wrong with bigger tanks if can do so.

Yes that will work. I have kept a pair of full grown L160s with a trio of L200s in that size with no major issues.
