Hi all,

About a month ago I bought a juvenile L264. He (or she) will go into my 150cm tank with, among other fish, an adult L128 and L200.
It currently lives in a smaller tank together with an adult L134, which even accepts the juvenile in his cave.

I put the L264 in the smaller tank because I want to make sure that he gets enough food. In the bigger tank there are also cory sterbais and some Japonica shrimps to compete with for food on the bottom.

The tank he is in right now is too small for an adult size L264, but when do I transfer him to the bigger tank? He is now about 5-6 cm. Can you give me some advice?

Plenty of hiding places as i see mine about once or twice a week which is good because that lets me know that I have plenty of hiding places for her. I also would recommend a very meaty diet, as high protein seems to help them grow faster. I use earthworm sticks and shrimp on occasion but their main diet consists of massivore delight sinking hikari food, and the hikari algae pellets.

Agree, plenty of hiding places such as caves. But take it easy on the high protein diet as these are susceptible to bloating. Never seen them take on squash, zuchini or other greens. But a variety of sinking tabs such as algae tabs, cory tabs, and protein tabs is a better option than protein all the time.

Thanks for the advice up to now. I will look into the Hakiri algae tabs and take it easy on the protein. I suspect mine eats zuchini,but not in large quantities.

Any thoughts on the subject of when to move him to the bigger tank with the bigger catfish?
Before I move him I will create some more caves, although the L200 and L128 are (surprisingly) very tolerant to each others presence and rarely compete for territory.

That depends on the size of the L200 and L128. L264 can certainly hold its own, but I wouldn't move it until it is a reasonable size to the others, that way it has a fighting chance against any sort of harassment.

My f1's love to eat green beans. That and nls and flake food as well.
