I am new to this site and cam with a question. I have an synondontis (ocellifer? can't ever get that right)named Polkie (for polka dots) who has grown from about 2 to 4 or 5inches but he hides almost all the time...is that normal? He's in a 42 gal bow front with green corys, 3 clown loaches (largest is 3 inches), flying foxes, golden dojos, a bristlenose and a 4 or 5 inch pleco. I bought him originally for my 60 gal oscar tank (1 tiger oscar)but he was so small when he came in that I ended up putting a 4 or 5 " pleco in there who is now about 9 inches! Is the synondontis afraid of the pleco do you think? Or do they mainly come out at night? Also, will several plecos get along together? I could put this other one in the Oscar tank probably--plenty of hiding spots.....thanks for any help! :-\

Hi & welcome to PC

Many synos are naturally very light shy particularly of there any many hidey-holes to make them feel more secure: Caves, twisted roots etc.

Most common plecos will get on ok together but be aware - they grow huge & are a poor choice for almost all tanks
