Not sure if this is a female or male. It is the biggest of them all. Any guesses ImageImageImage

The left and center photos look like females. The fish in the middle right photo is a male.

Females are larger and fatter. I have seen mine breed, and this rule has always held, at least in my tank.

Erm... I am not sure what you mean by you separated them? If you mean you remove other species from their tank, that's probably wise if you want fry. My discus have eaten up nearly all the Sterbai eggs. If you mean you separated some of the sterbai from the group, that seems like a terrible idea.

I meant I placed the trio in a tank by themselves
