My LFS just got two awesome plecs. They are approx. 6" TL. Black with white slightly irregular (not round) spots. Long slender build. Exaggerated lyre tail. They didn't raise the dorsal but I would say sharklike. VERY "fuzzy". And I do mean very! :?: 8)

Sounds like Acanthicus adonis.

Yep. That's it. Really awesome looking plec. I've already got my name on one! They're in a tank marked display only but he always seems to have an extra one in there for me. $69.00 US.. Ouch!! Will definitely be my most expensive fish.

Keep in mind that they are probably the largest pleco species regularly imported. They can supposedly get to 1 yard long and across!

Hi!

For sure it would take several years to grow up to that size but better leave this one unless you already have a huge tank!!!
There are some way smaller species with a colour pattern as much as attractive than Acanthicus adonis
Cheers

I have a 1000gal pond 2' deep. I've been thinking of heating to 68*F in the winter. Would that be warm enough?

HI!

I think 68 might be a bit just too low might want to least 73F...
Cheers
