Hi all!
Is the green panaque extinct or what?
When I asked in an aquariumshop they told me, that they´re extinct due to the massive pollution down there. .
They´ re not yet bred in an ordinary aquarium, are they?
It can´t be true that they really don´t exist anymore

Hi!
I have never heard about a green Panaque. Are you talking about L200 or some Peckoltia species.
The only Loricariidae that has a rumor ( possibly true) that he is instinct in the wild in Panaque suttonorum but he sure ain't green!

Hi!
Yes it is a Panaque sp, and if I remember corretly it is L191!
There are not really hard to find! Your petshop should be able to obtain some rather easily!

Hi!
Thanx! Then I´ll start looking for one again. Perhaps it´s easier to find one, now that I know what the L-number is. .

The L191 is the most common Panaque sold here, and are slightly cheaper than the rest of the Panaques (L27).

I agree, pretty common around here. Just ask your LFS to order some Royals, and odds are there will be a few L-191's in there

There was a thread recently stating that the area that they get the L191 from is under threat of war or rebellion of some sort. It seems like the peace talks in that area faltered. I'm not so sure if the thread was in the older PC forum or this new one.
I did mention that mine may turn out to be rare soon. Whether the rumors are true or not make sure that you take good care of them.

Here is the thread:

It is here in the forum under the thread name "Origin of L191"-authored by MIKA. The topic on the failed peace talks was posted by Shane. Check em out. Again take good care of them. There may be a lot now but your 191 may go the way of the
blue-eyed panaque soon.

- Yeah, the Panaques are not the most easy fish to take care of . . but as long as they have lot of space, roots, proper food and quitness, they seem alright.
I´ve never seen a green Panaque in Denmark, but I bought a grey one with red eyes recently. He´s SO beautiful!!!

(I still don´t know the L-number and sadly I haven´t got a picture of him yet. . )
