Pre-Pleco Fever?

It's real lets start with that :-p

Recently after realizing I had clown plecos I had the urge for L134 rise in me. I had it before my search for L306 but suppressed until my 4 lovely little P.maccus arrived. These fish are lovely but I yearned to bring in less common plecos and raise them up with a possibility of breeding at the end of the road. Needles to say that urge reformed and I started showing classic symptoms of pleco withdrawal. I stared endlessly at classifieds scrolling back to date like 2009 without even realizing it. After a loss of hope I posted a thread on another forum in canada seeking L134 to cure this horrible, horrible disease... Luckily many helpful replies appeared and I got in contact with a great breeder!

So now 6 young and captive bred P.compta are coming my way! They are arriving tomorrow, 6:30 AM at the airport! Although my mom is not to keen to go to the airport at 6:00 AM She seems to be Ok with doing it (does not mean happy!).

I'll be posting a mother load of pictures when they arrive! I just did a water change tonight and purchased lots of frozen meaty foods as well as meaty sinking pellets and have a fully charged camera for the morning!

Updates to come!

The catfish bug is a hard one to explain in general. Most people who pick it up I guess eventually end up here. I can't remember how I arrived here, think it was in searching for something and an artical popped up. Since than have seen semi regular articals by jools in fish magazines. I still read them but only take advice and further research on it as sometimes its a bit suspect.

Remember to buy your mom some flowers to say thank you. I hope your fish arrived well and happy. Do let them settle a bit before the camera comes out. A settled fish you will have years to photo.

I now have a display tank full of colour with just a flag tail porthole and ancsitrus for cat fish in it. Nice community tank in the living room style for its relatively small size. Fairly common stock, so dont think its special just nice. For me I have my crazy 2ft full of ancsitrus growing out and cory's. 100% catfish tank and I rather like it (I lied has 3 ammano shrimp in it). I shall miss the little guys when they are finally gone. My 18" is set to become a micro catfish tank or just 1 or 2 small special fish for my catfish fever. We all love new fish arriving its like kids in a candy store.

Well they all arrived safe and sound! all 7 of them (what a pleasant surprise!) and they have all moved in to some degree. They kicked My P.maccus out of there hiding places and took over (Made them much more confident! I can now open the door with out scaring them all :-p ) I ordered some more drift wood so I'm going to make a nice tangle with plenty of hiding places for everyone. I'm at school right now but I've been a bit of a pleco paparazzi lately so when I get home I'll upload pictures!
