Hello guys!! I 'm a seafarer and I'm traveling with my vessel between France and Nederland and I would like to have an aquariun onboard and want to ask you if I can find a pet shop specialized in plecos in Rotterdam or Spijkenisse area or if you know somebody selling L numbers.
I'm interested to buy some ancistrus claro (lda 08), ancistrus L183 & 184, ancistrus rio tocantis and ancistrus L089.
Thank you!
Florin

I have absolutely no experience with the issue but I question keeping fish on a boat. I think it would be incredibly stressful for them and I would not recommend it.

Not from Rotterdam, but I can provide a link: http://www.verduijncichlids.com/home/

From homepage, click Vissen, then Meervallen, then L-nummers (currently 3 pages).

Good luck.

Will answer both one by obe!!
First I would like to thanks Marc for his help. Very kind of you to reply. I saw already the shop and I might go for some fish from the guys.
Regarding the message from 'jp11biod', can tell you that you made me laugh a bit :).
My 'boat' as you called it is only 180 meters long and 30 meters and I would call it a vessel more than a boat. And jonestly have no idea how I could stress the fish. Maybe they have sea sick :))...
I had before aquarium onboard and the fish I took it jome with me in Romania when I left and maybe they was stressed during the flight from Paris to Bucharest but for sure not onboard.
Thanks again!
Wishh you all the best!
Florin

With regard to keeping fishes on a boat - the earliest fishes imported in Europe all came by boat. Simply because there was no airfright.

Being landbound I would consider transporting fishes on sea quite stressfull, but the fish manage. Somehow.

I may be missing something here but how would the fish have any idea they are on a boat?

They can feel the swell probably :D .
Don't think will get affected by the water movement in the tank. Immagine the water movement from the rivers they live.
I had fish before and they made it well and didn't looked stressed at all.
This pasion is an addiction so...will see next time... Now couldn't manage to get an aquarium.
Cheers and thanks for the reply!

So the plan is on hold? I can see no reason why the fish would be affected by being on a boat lol what sort of size tank can you house on your vessel?

Yes at tbr moment the plan is on hold because on the end on the month will ho back home so is no reason to have it now but will com back onboard in about 2 months and then will make one. I was thinking at 100 liters now depends what I'm finding at that time.
Cheers!!
