Choosing a macro lens for cell phone cameras

Recently @jac posted some amazing photos of her Hypancistrus inspector eggs and fry, the photos taken with her cell phone using an inexpensive detachable macro lens made for cell phones.
Although most of my friends have iPhones and Android phones, for which these macros are made, I have owned Windows phones so I was concerned that the macros for iPhones wouldn't fit my phone. Specifically, I have a Microsoft Lumia 950, which as a first among Windows phones I can judge that it has a really good camera (my last three Windows phones, one HTC and two Nokia Lumias, had mediocre cameras).
I bought a Apelex 20x macro lens. I bought it for about $8 USD from Gearbest (link). It fits my phone great and the mount does not block either my camera's light sensor or its flash. This takes really nice pictures... So close in fact that I wish it was a little weaker! LOL. Something to consider if you buy one. But so far I'm impressed.
