Got my registration, reserved my room, requested to sell on 3rd floor. Will make it down Thursday and leave Sunday.
I will mostly be bringing my tank raised B&W Hypans- zebras, L236, L450 and maybe some of my 173b, some of these look really neat so far.

@Shane
When I registered I used Paypal and the transaction went through. They never sent me a confirmation. I had other correspondence with the folks at PVAS, who are hosting the event, and they acknowledged my registration.

Aqueon is sending me. I get in late Thursday night and will be in the Aqueon booth until mid day Sunday.
Bringing some Corydoras similis, Corydoras diphyes, and Sturisoma panamense that I will be donating to PVAS for the auction.
I may be in the market for some L236 at that time also TTA.

If I can get off work, I plan to attend my first CatCon this year. I'm really excited.
I was wondering though - how does everyone usually get fish home if they fly?

You can check them through in baggage. I have a large roller bag that I insert a styro into. Double bag each bag of fish loosely (air expands at altitude). And place all fish bags inside another larger bags.
If I just have one bag I carry it on with me. TSA will inspect it to make sure the fish is alive but there is no maximum water requirement for live fish.

Sighhh. Now you guys are just making me feel bad (because I can't go). I'll have to do what I did two years ago, and live vicariously through your after-the-fact stories!

I just put the last couple of items on the two skids of product we are shipping to CatCon. Can't wait to get my booth setup.
Anyone going to be selling any livebearers or tetras there. I am bringing some catfish for the tanks but they could use some upper water fish for color.

I have a box coming tomorrow with amanos, flame tetras (Hyphessobrycon flammeus) and rummynose. The shrimp and rummynose are for my tanks, but I will be bringing about 32 flames. 12 are adult size and 20 are smaller. Had you posted yesterday I could have ordered tetras for you.
@ bekateen
Sorry to hear that, Eric. I was hoping I might get to meet you. The odds are about 50/50 this could be both my 2nd and final CatCon.

Anyone looking for L 182 or P. maccus? I need to move along some young ones. Also lots of Steatocranus tinati if any one is looking for a fun, peaceful cichlid.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Sorry for the shameless plug......
Started organizing stuff today. Heaters and air supplies for tanks in my room. Stuff for sale- almond leaves, Rooibos tea, Eheim media, a few excess pieces of driftwood and poking around for used equipment. Getting ready to pull zebras, contradens, 236, 450, 173b and maybe a few F1 173 (I just looooove those B&W Hypans). Will also be bringing Flame tetras and a number of tall long leaf varieties of Hygrophelia.
The best part is that 10 cents of every dollar spent in my room I will donate to Planet catfish.

I will not be able to attend neither. It would've been super to go to my first one.
I'll have a beer on everyone's behalf

Quick note for people bringing fish to CatCon.
Our water here is alkaline pH 7.8, hard (120 ppm), and treated with chemicals as it comes from the Potomac aka Pollutamac River.
Most locals, myself included, use a double dose of Prime to treat the water BEFORE adding it to a tank.
If you are bringing fish, especially from soft or neutral to acidic water, come prepared. There were many needless fish losses at the last convention.

Great point, Shane. There certainly were lots of losses last time.
With DC water, also from the Potomac, I haven't had a problem with a normal dose of Safe when adding water to the tank, but folks in the hotel had all sorts of problems in 2014.

What size are the tinantis?

Males are 2.5"-3" and females 1.5"-2".
Just let me know how many you want. Jools took some back to Scotland from the last CatCon and has spawned them. Let's get some in Canada.

I am not sure how much of my problems at the last CatCon were related to the Hotel water as much as to one of the major suppliers of bags to the hobby had toxic bags. For over a decade I bought all my bags from the same supplier. I lost fish at Catcon, the NEC and the ACA event all due to the bags.
I switched to Jehmco as my supplier and since then I have not had any issues. I use Amquel for shipping and road trips, at home I have well water and never use conditioner. I may grab a bottle of Prime, but I have never liked to use anything that contains chemicals supposed to be beneficial re fish slime coat. I especially wont use aloe vera in water.
Back to bagging- contradens and 173b need to be caught and packed,
