A think planetcatfish has been hacked

After JesHailan, post spam : viagra
http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/memb ... le&u=32272

Now Richardbuini, post spam : prostitution
http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/memb ... le&u=32288
http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... 38#p301538

2 accounts hacked used for spam, on 1 week = planetcatfish abnormal security.
Too much coincidence. I think planetcatfish have security breach

Hi,

A quick 8:59 AM EST (U.S) follow up to Victor's post: Everything on the visual home page (minus three) is from Richardbuini. A prolific little bugger.

Let's be clear on the difference between hacked and spammed. Sadly, human generated spam happens from time to time. The mods, especially @Silurus, do a great job of keeping it under control.

Please use the report topic function if you wish to identify spam. Any individual post should be dealt with in under 24 hours, usually less.

Cheers

Sorry, Jools. You are right, the reporting function must suffice.

If I were you, I'd delete this thread too in its entirety, so there is no memory of this abomination for posterity.

Just my $0.02.

Well, it might be useful for future reference and the thread is now tucked away in the resolved forum. Plus it may by others have questions about what's going on with spammers.

Well, I bow to your tolerance, Jools.

I'd not want any mention of the word prostitution on my clean and beautiful site ;) Easy for me to say of course. I ain't putting money and time where my mouth is.

Fortunately, the major search engines are smart enough to know. Otherwise the amount of times the word sex and other terms we use when trying to figure out the gender of our fishes would blacklist the site! They've come a long way, back in 1997, the site got blacklisted because of heavy use of the word contained the word aryan!

So, I'm OK, although I would have edited out a direct quote from SPAM.

Nope, was from a search engine called altavista - google it! (that's an IT joke).
