Hello I have a L. oncinus to 170 mm and I would like to know if I give him too much or not enough.
I give him 8 wafers to food Tetramin tetrawafers for catfish. But I find my jaguar catfish so big. What do you think ?

Good-looking jag! I don't know if this is natural to them to be plum or they tend to overeat. I'd give it plenty to eat until the tummy bulges well and feed it next time after the tummy goes back to flat.

I am not sure about its "second chin" - it may or may not look unusual but the photos are too small...

I am glad to see that you made its hiding hole so you can see it. That's what I do too. So many people complain they almost never see their jags. https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/foru ... le.683522/

This tank is not for him. He is there because a Peckoltia compta wounded him at the level of the mouth so he is a hospital tank. Normally it is in a tank with many wood and I only see it at night.

Thanks for explaining.

To me it doesn't look like it's obese / too fat. It is on the fat side but then I see that with many jaguar catfish. So, I'd stick with the rule I offered but if it is a community tank, you might not be in position to control how much it eats.

It's tail seems odd, almost as if trimmed and perhaps growing back.

I feed him in her coconut so I'm sure of what he eats.
Its tail seems to me effectively Strange, I had never been careful, I got it like this.
This problem of tail is it a deficiency in vitamin or over complement ? He refuses to eat shrimps or piece of fish, I don't see what else can I give him.
