Please can anyone help me.
I would like to setup 260L tank for L numbers and a few fish.
But which wood is the best to use? Bog wood or Drift wood.
Or does it not matter, I am not breeding them it's just a hobby.
I have a180L tank at the moment. With these 3 beauties
1 L018 Golden Nugget 1 L128 Blue Phantom 1 L200 Hi Fin Green Phantom, these are the type of L- Numbers I want to keep.
Thanks for any help with my choice of wood
Ian

I'd say the most important thing is LOTS of wood and other hiding places.
I use a lot of oak and beech wood collected from local woods and parks.

What's the difference? We use the terms interchangeably I guess and often the wood doesn't come from a bog or from a beach.

I prefer collecting my own dead wood.

In the States the terms bogwood and driftwood are used interchangeably. The real kicker is that the majority of commercially sold "bogwood" and "driftwood" come from dense desert trees (manzanita, mopani, cholla, mesquite) and will have never been submersed be fore being placed in an aquarium. The final common "driftwood" is Malaysian or Sumatran. This stuff is just the roots of mangrove trees.
Manzanita is great for fine tuned aquascaping. Mopani and Malaysian woods are most likely to have nice cracks and crannies for plecos. Mopani will last longer but Malaysian will give off nice rich tannins longer.
