Feeding Otocinclus

Hello everyone,
After the very last of my small batch of ottos passed away several months ago, I went "ottoless" for a while. I recently purchased 3 healthy and active specimens and put them into one of my smaller, well established tanks. They seem to be doing well.
I was wondering if anyone has fed theirs dried mulberry leaves and dried Nori seaweed sheets. I have had much success feeding the mulberry leaves to my younger bristlenose and bulldog (rubber lip) plecos, as well as my shrimp and snails. I had a large mulberry leaf in my tank and the ottos seemed to love resting on it and "chewing" on it. It disappeared quite quickly (but to he fair I have a horrendous Malaysian trumpet snail problem in that tank
). I have also put the seaweed sheets in (a small section at a time) and they shoot right to it. However since I feed at night I don't want to leave the lights on too long and bother them. I would rather they eat in peace.
I have also offered them bits of zucchini blanced in Garlic Guard, and various veggie sticks and wafers.
I really missed having these little guys, and I want to have them as long as I had the other group. There is some algae in the tank, but not much. There bellies seem full and as I said they seem alert (fins up) and active.
Any feeding tips? Thanks!
p.s. Any thoughts on them "needing" (i.e. requiring) live plants in their tanks? They only plants I can seem to keep alive are Marimo moss balls, of which I have several in each of my tanks.
