Hi pointpleco,

Here is how to make your wish list: View a CLOG page for a species you want. Once on that page, you'll see a series of icons located beside the menu for selecting that species.
  • The first is a + symbol to add the fish to your "My Cats" list (if you have the fish);
  • the second is a heart symbol to add the fish to your "My Wish list" list;
  • the third is a pair of binoculars to add the fish to your "Spotted" list (meaning you've found the fish somewhere, like in a LFS).
So click on the heart for each species and you'll make your own personal wish list.

Cheers, Eric

Ahh ok no problem, yeh the same as adding the fish I keep. Now I think of it I did see that once before. Just was searching before and didn’t look in the right place. Thanks

I'm working on this feature at the moment, the most wished for, recent wishes, most spotted and recently spotted species will start appearing on the front page too.

Cheers,

Jools

Neat!

Jools, will the "recently spotted" feature allow people a field to type in where they saw it? (e.g., name of a LFS or website)

Glad you like it! The plan is to store the location, but typed location is no use. I'm in Bathgate right now - is that the original town in Scotland or the newer town in North Dakota? California in central Scotland, or the more well known state on the western seaboard of the US... So, I will introduce browser based location grabbing and location grabbing by taking the EXIF information out of a picture taken at the LFS, fish show, riverbank or friends tanks etc. If folks want to do this, they would have to opt in. This would also allow alerting when a species on a wishlist is spotted near you.

But this is not much use until I make the site much more mobile friendly. That will take a while. For now, I just want to begin to store the data and have a structure around it.

The catfish spotter information will also get populated automatically using your my cats and photo submissions data. If you're keeping a species or have provided a picture of it, then you have also seen it.

Hope that all makes sense,

Jools

Hi Jools. Yes, thanks. My only concern would be the fact that a "my GPS location" won't work well if people delay reporting and move to another location first. But I suppose it'll still be close.

Good luck,
Eric

Yes, but then it's a simple pop-up to say use the location or not. And, on a global scale, even the state or Country would be better than nothing.

True. I was thinking more in terms of LFS name.
